Threads of Identity

About

Welcome to My Indigenous Life Blogs

Hi, I’m Michelle, and I’m so glad you’re here. My blog is a space where I share stories, insights, and reflections about Indigenous identity and culture. It’s divided into three categories, each offering a unique perspective. Take a moment to explore the topics below and find the one that speaks to you.

Our Shared Path

Our Shared Path is where I explore the broader experiences of Indigenous people—our challenges, triumphs, and celebrations. This section delves into the collective journey of Indigenous communities, shedding light on the resilience and beauty that define us. From navigating hardships to celebrating traditions, these stories aim to connect, educate, and inspire.

Being Kwakiutl

This section is deeply personal, focusing on my identity as a Kwakiutl individual. Here, I share stories from my heritage, lessons passed down through my family, and insights into the unique experiences of being part of the Kwakiutl Nation. Traditions and practices are woven into my everyday life. From food and art to ceremonies and stories, I celebrate the beauty and resilience of my Indigenous culture while living in my traditional village of Tsakis.

My Daily Drums

My Daily Drums is where I get a little more personal and share what’s been going on in my world. From day-to-day moments to thoughts on current events, this section is a reflection of my journey as someone deeply connected to Indigenous identity, yet living in a very modern and colonial world. It’s a mix of musings, updates, and heartfelt stories.

I hope these blogs offer something meaningful to you—whether it’s a new perspective, inspiration, or simply a connection to the stories I share. Thank you for being here, and I invite you to explore whichever category speaks to you most.
